ClickBeagle MCP server: ask Claude or ChatGPT about your leads and ad traffic
ClickBeagle runs a remote MCP server at https://clickbeagle.com/mcp. Add that one URL to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex CLI or Gemini CLI, sign in to ClickBeagle, press Allow, and you can ask in plain English where this week's leads came from, which paid clicks look suspicious or whether GPTBot read your service pages. Nine read-only tools answer from the same data you see in the ClickBeagle dashboard.
What an MCP server is, in one paragraph
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call tools hosted by another service. Instead of exporting a CSV and pasting it into a chat, the assistant asks ClickBeagle directly, gets a short plain-text answer and reasons over it. ClickBeagle's server speaks Streamable HTTP and uses OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration, so there are no API keys to copy: the assistant opens the ClickBeagle sign-in page, you approve access, and the client receives its own token.
The nine tools ClickBeagle exposes
Every tool is marked read-only. The assistant always starts with list_sites to get real site ids instead of guessing them.
| Tool | What it returns | Ask it |
|---|---|---|
list_sites | Your sites with id, URL, time zone, your role and when data last arrived | “Which sites do I have in ${N}?” |
traffic_overview | Visits, visitors, leads, phone clicks, bounce rate, time on site, top channels, UTM sources, campaigns and pages, compared with the previous period | “How did last week compare with the week before?” |
list_visits | Visits newest first: source with UTM, landing page, pages, duration, device, lead or phone click, link to the visit | “Show today's visits from Google Ads.” |
get_visitor | One visitor's card: every visit and source, the lead source forecast and submitted forms | “What did this visitor do before calling?” |
list_leads | Form leads with the source forecast, page, masked contacts, plus server conversions reported by your CRM or backend | “Where did this month's leads come from?” |
bots_activity | Google and AI crawlers: requests, verification status, most crawled pages and errors | “Does ChatGPT crawl my service pages?” |
click_protection | Paid clicks by risk level, repeated or risky IPs (masked) and open review cases | “Any repeat ad clicks from the same IP?” |
webvisor_sessions | Recorded visits with source, landing page, lead marks and a link to the replay | “Find recordings of visits that ended in a lead.” |
server_events_status | Events received from your CRM or backend and their delivery status to ad platforms, with reasons | “Were yesterday's booked jobs delivered?” |
Periods are passed as dates in the site's own time zone, the default is the last seven days, and list tools return up to 50 rows per call. Each answer includes links back to the matching page in the dashboard when you want the full detail, for example the click-protection case behind a risky IP.
How to connect it
The server URL is the same for every client: https://clickbeagle.com/mcp. The first request opens the ClickBeagle sign-in page; after you press Allow, the client is connected.
Claude (claude.ai, Desktop and mobile)
Open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the URL, name it ClickBeagle, press Add, then Connect and allow access. The connector then also appears in Claude Desktop and the mobile app.
ChatGPT
In Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings, turn on Developer mode. Then Create a connector with the name ClickBeagle, the MCP server URL above and OAuth authentication, sign in and allow access. In a chat, pick ClickBeagle from the + menu.
Claude Code, Codex CLI and Gemini CLI
claude mcp add --transport http clickbeagle https://clickbeagle.com/mcp
codex mcp add clickbeagle --url https://clickbeagle.com/mcp
gemini mcp add --transport http clickbeagle https://clickbeagle.com/mcp
A browser window opens on the first request so you can sign in. In Gemini CLI, run /mcp auth clickbeagle after adding the server.
Cursor, Windsurf and VS Code
Add the server in the MCP settings (in Cursor: Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json) and press Login when it shows up:
{ "mcpServers": { "clickbeagle": { "url": "https://clickbeagle.com/mcp" } } }
Questions worth asking
- Where did last week's leads come from, and which campaign brought the most?
- Compare this month's traffic with last month: what grew, what fell?
- Do ChatGPT and Googlebot crawl the site, and which pages do they read? (See bot analytics.)
- Are there suspicious ad clicks from the same IPs this week?
- Find recorded visits from Meta ads that reached the quote page but didn't send the form.
- Did the CRM's “appointment booked” events reach the ad platforms, and if not, why? (See server-side conversions.)
Good answers come from combining tools: the assistant can pull leads with list_leads, open a visitor with get_visitor, then check click_protection for the same campaign, the way an analyst would.
Privacy and permissions
- Read-only. No tool can change a site, a setting or an ad account. The consent screen says so before you allow access.
- Only your sites. Each call goes through the same access check as the dashboard: the assistant sees the sites your account is a member of, nothing else.
- Contacts stay masked. Names, phones and emails from forms are masked by default. They are shown only when you explicitly ask and your role has the contacts permission, and every reveal is written to the audit log.
- Easy to revoke. The Connect AI page in the dashboard lists every connected client with the date it was connected, and Revoke cuts it off. Deleting a user cuts their AI access at once.
Answers you receive are passed to the AI provider you chose, under that provider's terms. Keep contact reveals for the cases where you really need them.
What it does not do
The ClickBeagle MCP server reads analytics; it does not manage ads. If you want an assistant to change Google Ads or Meta Ads campaigns with approvals, that is the job of Ads Connector, the MCP connector ClickBeagle is part of. ClickBeagle answers “what happened on the website”; Ads Connector acts on the ad accounts.
FAQ
Is the ClickBeagle MCP server free?
Yes, read-only MCP access is included in every ClickBeagle plan, including Free. You need a ClickBeagle account with at least one site.
Can the AI change my settings or ads through MCP?
No. All nine tools are read-only. They read visits, leads, bots, click protection, recordings and server events and change nothing.
Which AI clients work with it?
Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth: Claude (web, Desktop and mobile), ChatGPT in developer mode, Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Windsurf and VS Code.
Will the assistant see my customers' phone numbers?
Not by default. Contacts are masked unless you explicitly ask to reveal them and your role has the contacts permission; each reveal is logged.
How do I disconnect an assistant?
Open Connect AI in the dashboard and press Revoke next to the client. The token stops working immediately.
